About Mangalayatan University
The "The Mangalayatan University, Uttar Pradesh Act, 2006" established the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) member Mangalayatan University (MU) Aligarh. Authorities including the UGC, National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bar Council of India (BCI), and Pharmacy Council of India have all given their regulatory clearance to all of the programmes that MU offers (PCI). | Process | Placement programs are held on campus. Companies come to the campus and interview students through numerous levels of selection. |
There are certain placement policies that the students should be aware of. These policies are:
- Criteria and qualification requirements set by companies at Mangalayatan University placement programs will be held as the final eligibility criteria for the students to get placed.
- Student representatives must attend all MU T&P meetings. Active participation is needed in order to ensure optimum representation and organized distribution of information and feedback.
- Discipline must be maintained during placement drives taking place on campus. Students must wear proper uniforms and should maintain professional discipline.
- Students have to sign up for a particular company they are interested in 48 hours prior to the placement event begins. Interested students have to visit the MU Aligarh T&P office for the verification of their eligibility.
- A student cannot accept or avail of more than one placement offer, that also at the Directors' discretion. This rule includes the job opportunities achieved by a student through some off-campus drive. For top A+ recruiters like Abbott, Accenture, and others, the University may decide to provide an already placed student with one more opportunity to get placed at its own discretion.
- If a student fails to get placed in 5 consecutive placement drives, he/she shall be considered ineligible for employment by the T&P Cell.
- If a student has registered for some on-campus/off-campus drive and has failed to attend it for whatever reason, he/she will not be considered as interested by the T&P Cell.
- Students shall receive notifications for upcoming placement drives, events, placement results, via their respective institutional Email IDs. The institutional E-mail ID shall be used as a medium of communication by the T&P Cell and the Placement Committee.
- If a student fails to clear the preliminary round for 3 consecutive placement drives, he/she shall be considered ineligible for placement by the T&P Cell.
- If a job opportunity is withdrawn after being offered to a student for any reason (except for students' inability to meet the eligibility criteria of the job opportunity), the student may be eligible for placement again as Mangalayatan University will make all possible efforts to provide the best to their students.
- T&P officials, Placement Committee, Faculty Coordinators are all constituent bodies of the T&P Cell. These constituent bodies shall together form the Placement Group and important information shall be shared within this group on a regular basis.

This university offers a vast variety of courses to students. To avail of these courses and to get admitted to MU the students have to score a minimum aggregate percentage. If this percentage of marks and their performance in MUEE or any of the state/ national entrance exams fit the Mangalayatan University selection criteria, only then will the students get a chance to take admissions in this institute.
For Computer Science and Engineering programs

- For undergraduate courses, the minimum percentage of marks required to be eligible for applying is 45% to 50% in 10+2 level or any other equivalent exam. Students will be selected through MU Entrance Exam or any national/ state level entrance exam or GATE. Personal Interview of students is also conducted before admission.
- For Diploma courses, the eligibility criteria are the same as before.
- Students who wish to apply for post-graduation should score at least 45% to 50% marks in graduation. The selection criteria are the same as the under-graduation level. At the Ph.D. level, the students have to score 50% to 55% marks in post-graduation. Entrance exams accepted are MUEE/UGC-NET and personal interviews. For some programs, the merit-based section is also done.
For MU Aligarh Humanities courses
- For graduation courses, students must score at least 50% in 10+2 to become eligible for applying. Students will be selected through MU Aligarh Entrance Exam or any national/ state level entrance exam or GATE. Personal Interview of students is also conducted before admission.
- For post-graduation courses, students must score at least 50% in graduation level to become eligible for applying. Mangalayatan University Campus Facilities and Infrastructure
Library- The library in the institute is named Mangalayatan University Central Library. The library is huge, spacious, with modern facilities. There are about 40,000 books and subscriptions, along with 300 journals and periodicals. One can find an interesting collection of research and industrial reports in the library. News and business magazines are also found in the library. A separate section is dedicated wholly to storing research databases and multiple copies of textbooks relevant to the courses and programs taught in the University.
Laboratories- Mangalayatan University campus has numerous labs to fit the requirements of all types of practical works that are carried out by faculties of several departments. The labs that are available on the campus are Civil Engineering Lab, Computer Lab, Design Lab, Electrical Lab, Mechanical Lab, Bioinformatics Lab, Industrial Automation Lab, Microwave Lab, Electrical Machines Lab, VLSI Lab, Cell Biology Lab, Aviation Lab, Microprocessor Lab.
Research Centres- The research centers encourage students to re-think, re-create and re-invent new ways of old facts and processes. The students in 2021 have also represented M.U. - Residence/Hostel- Mangalayatan University hostel facilities are provided to their students. All hostel buildings are located within the campus area. The occupancy of hostel rooms ranges from single occupancy to shared rooms. Hostel facilities are separate for girls and boys. Below are given all the details one needs to know before opting out for hostel facilities

- Mangalayatan University hostels, mess facilities are really good, they are very safe and clean. The dining halls are huge and can accommodate many people at once. Only vegetarian food is served. The annual mess charge is INR 36,000 only.
Points to Remember
- Hostel and mess security charge is INR 5,000. The security charge paid in the first year of the course is additional and will be refunded on vacating the hostel on the completion of the course duration.
- Hostel rooms will be allotted to students on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- The Mangalayatan University hostel fee should be deposited in advance to ensure booking.
- Revision of MU hostel fee structure and other charges takes place annually.
Other Facilities
- Sports Complex- A Sports Complex is available for students to use in their leisure time. This sports complex has a Basketball Court, a Cricket Ground, a Tennis Court, a Soccer Rumble, and a Volleyball Court.
- Shuttle Service- Mangalayatan University runs bus or Shuttle Services outside the university campus for the convenience of students, staff, and faculty members who live far away from the campus. Students from other cities or far away localities usually stay at the campus hostels and mess, hence bus services for students are arranged on a weekly basis, to give them a tour within the city. Students are charged a nominal fee for this facility. These buses usually cover the routes in Aligarh, Mathura, Agra, Hathras, and some other places.
- Cafeteria- Students can enjoy delicious foods and quick snacks when hungry from the cafeteria located within the college campus. Only vegetarian food is available here.
- Hospital/ Medical Facilities- Hospital and Medical Facilities are available within the campus in case of any medical or health-related emergencies. Small injuries and common diseases and illnesses can be managed here. Health check-ups are also done at regular intervals within the campus.

Often students eligible for higher studies are not economically sound enough to apply for courses or continue their education. The institute makes sure that these students do not have to give up their dreams just because of economical difficulties. Mangalayatan University scholarships and student loans are offered to talented students who need money for educational purposes.
The maximum amount of education loan that a student can get is 10lakh for studies in India with a rate of interest of 2.00% + Base Rate (for male students) and 1.50 + Base Rate (for female, SC/ST & IIM/IIT students). Repayment of the loan by students to start after completion of courses. The repayment period spans up to 10 years.

Scholarship 1
This MU scholarship program acts as a Course Fee Waiver to highly-talented students in the field of academics, who are eligible to apply for this scholarship. This scholarship is awarded based on merit in a qualifying exam for any degree course offered by the University.
For Girls
• 85.01% & above marks = 100% course fee waivers
• 80.01% to 85% marks = 50% course fee waivers
• 75.01% to 80% marks = 20% course fee waivers
For Boys
• 90.01% & higher marks = 100% course fee waivers
• 85.01% to 90% marks = 50% course fee waivers
• 80.01% to 85 marks = 20% course fee waivers
Scholarship 2
This scholarship acts as a Fee Concession to University Employees and Their Wards. The concession that is allowed in course fees is 50% and is offered to the self/spouse/son/daughter of the people employed in the University. Brothers/sisters who are considered as an extended blood relation of the employees are also offered a concession of 15%.
Scholarship 3
Differently-abled students with 40% or higher impairment are allowed a fee concession of 20% on all degree courses. This fee concession shall be considered throughout the duration of the course which is being pursued.
Mangalayatan University Faculty - This university functions with about 240 efficient and experienced faculty members. With a student-teacher ratio of 17:250 (approximately). More than 150 faculty members have research qualifications. Former Chairman of UGC, Vice Chairman of AICTE, and 11 former Vice-Chancellors lead this vast faculty. Mangalayatan University Student Council - Students of the University can participate in the student council, which is named Mangalayatan University Student Council (MUSC). The Student Council is a platform to share common interests and talents. Students spend their leisure time participating in the Council and organizing various programs. There are certain criteria that one needs to fulfill to be a part of this council or become a class representative. Let's take a look at these eligibility criteria:
- Eligibility Criteria for First-Year Students- Students who secure 75% marks in qualifying exams are eligible to become class representatives which also make them eligible to join the student council.
- Eligibility Criteria for Second Year Onwards: Students who secured 75% or 8 CGPA without any backlog in the consequent years.

- The selection of class representatives is to be done by the HoDs of respective departments.
- Each section of the department containing 60 or more students shall have one class representative.
- Sections with smaller class populations may appoint one coordinator for the entire institute/department or a group of classes.
- HoD will send the name of the class representatives to the director of the Student Council.
- In the case of the Student Council, a faculty member functions as Convener of the Council.
Mangalayatan University Publications- Along with academic programs, the University also focuses on the publication of works done in their college. This encourages students to do their own research and think on a particular topic. Some of these research magazines are

Students Projects - A group of students in 2006 conducted an experiment on finding a process to improve the sputtering shots and the shelf life in a phase change of data storage and media manufacturing technology.
Students have also worked to develop a nano-size for ZnS powder for the purpose of using it as an information storage application.
Students of Journalism and Mass Media communication department produced a documentary film 'Tabassum', which bagged the Award for the Best Documentary Film at 'Youth Spirit', an Indo-Russian Film Festival organized by Russian Centre of Science & Culture, Embassy of Russia in June 2012 in New Delhi.
Student Counseling - MU conducts counseling programs for students. They conduct Personality Development Programs (PDP), which help the students gain confidence and increase efficiency. In the psychological counseling programs, students can inform what problems they are facing and can open up about their inabilities and stress. Besides conducting PDP and psychological counseling, they also conduct career counseling which assists students to decide what their dream profession would be. Vanier College, CanadaDr. Nathan Robert from Vanier College, Canada, visited Mangalayatan University, furthering the relationship initiated by the MOU signed by the organizations in 2010. The college had one set of its students visit Mangalayatan University as part of a Jain Studies program. Further student and faculty exchanges are being planned.
European Institute for Asian StudiesA joint delegation from European Institute for Asian Studies and PH.D Chamber visited Mangalayatan University to explore different avenues for academic exchange, CSR activities and joint capacity building programs.
