The "The Mangalayatan University, Uttar Pradesh Act, 2006" established the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) member Mangalayatan University (MU) Aligarh. In other courses where merit-based analysis is not done, the university entrance exam i.e., MUEE, is conducted. Library- The library in the institute is named Mangalayatan University Central Library. The library is huge, spacious, with modern facilities. There are about 40,000 books and subscriptions, along with 300 journals and periodicals. One can find an interesting collection of research and industrial reports in the library. News and business magazines are also found in the library. A separate section is dedicated wholly to storing research databases and multiple copies of textbooks relevant to the courses and programs taught in the University.

Often students eligible for higher studies are not economically sound enough to apply for courses or continue their education. The institute makes sure that these students do not have to give up their dreams just because of economical difficulties. Mangalayatan University scholarships and student loans are offered to talented students who need money for educational purposes.
The maximum amount of education loan that a student can get is 10lakh for studies in India with a rate of interest of 2.00% + Base Rate (for male students) and 1.50 + Base Rate (for female, SC/ST & IIM/IIT students). Repayment of the loan by students to start after completion of courses. The repayment period spans up to 10 years.

This MU scholarship program acts as a Course Fee Waiver to highly-talented students in the field of academics, who are eligible to apply for this scholarship. This scholarship is awarded based on merit in a qualifying exam for any degree course offered by the University.

This scholarship acts as a Fee Concession to University Employees and Their Wards. The concession that is allowed in course fees is 50% and is offered to the self/spouse/son/daughter of the people employed in the University. Brothers/sisters who are considered as an extended blood relation of the employees are also offered a concession of 15%.
Differently-abled students with 40% or higher impairment are allowed a fee concession of 20% on all degree courses. This fee concession shall be considered throughout the duration of the course which is being pursued.

Students Projects - A group of students in 2006 conducted an experiment on finding a process to improve the sputtering shots and the shelf life in a phase change of data storage and media manufacturing technology.
Students have also worked to develop a nano-size for ZnS powder for the purpose of using it as an information storage application.
